God Will Make a Way: A Labor Day Testimony

On this Labor Day, my heart overflows with gratitude, not just for work or rest, but for the goodness of God in every season. I am reminded to “be strong and courageous” (Joshua 1:9) and to boldly testify of His faithfulness.

Living on Purpose

I think of my best friend who shared her story, JUST TODAY, of moving from making banana splits to the C-Suite. What a testimony of purpose! “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10).

Heroes in the Making

Some of my friends dream of being a CNN Hero, bringing forgiveness and healing to a culture desperate for reconciliation. Others are fully committed to living out their gifts and talents. “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace” (1 Peter 4:10).

The Power of Encouragement

I thank God for my parents who always find a way to encourage me. I thank Him for friends on fire for God, and for those who step out boldly into the mission field five and six times a year across Africa and beyond. “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” (Romans 10:15).

And I’m lifting prayers for friends who are expecting babies, or still dreaming of the day when motherhood will be their testimony. May they be like Hannah, who prayed and trusted that “for this child I prayed, and the LORD has granted me my petition” (1 Samuel 1:27).

Rooted in Community

I am a proud member of BNI Signature Elite. At first, I laughed because I used to say, “I don’t go to BNI, I am BNI,” meaning my social capital already felt abundant. But when God led me to join Signature Elite, He reminded me that “a man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men” (Proverbs 18:16).

What I thought was just networking turned into God setting me up for blessing. Sometimes the Lord surprises us with opportunities in unexpected places. “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time” (1 Peter 5:6).

A Miracle-Working God

Today, I declare what the song says so powerfully: “God’s going to make a way”.

  • “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still” (Exodus 14:14).

  • “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).

  • “Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19).

My testimony is simple: All I know is my God does not play about me. He favors me, He provides for me, and He makes a way where there is no way.

So this Labor Day, I encourage you, whether you are working, resting, or waiting on a breakthrough, remember this truth: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5–6).

Share your testimony today. Encourage a friend. Celebrate the goodness of God. And hold on, because at the end of the day, God will make a way.
